THINGS TO DO

The best area attractions around Westbrook Connecticut.

How to spend your time on the Connecticut Shoreline

A well kept secret, the Connecticut Shoreline has a wonderful offering of activities.
Whether inside or outside, sunny skies or rainy days you're sure to find something fun to do.

West Beach is just a quick walk and promises soft sand and lovely sunsets.  Hike the Stewart McKinney Nature Preserve or Devils Hopyard State Park.  If you love to Kayak, you can borrow one from the Inn and start your journey right from our dock.

Our cultural attractions are vast.
The Westbrook Inn is a great home base to see The Florence Griswold Museum, The Connecticut River Museum, and Gillete Castle to name  a few.  If you love to be entertained, The Katherine Hepburn Cultural Center offers shows year round and be sure to visit the Katherine Hepburn Museum.  The Ivoryton Playhouse and Goodspeed Opera have wonderful plays and musical events as well.  And don't forget to book a ride on the Essex Steam Train featuring Dinner Cruises and Rail Bike excursions.

Love to shop?  Find lovely treasures by following our Antiquing map.  Clinton and Westbrook Outlets offer the bargain hunter a day of fun.  Or, explore the small and unique shops in the lovely colonial towns of Old Saybrook, Essex or Chester.
